about the First Response Fire Training Online course

The Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 requires: first response evacuation instructions be given to staff within one month of a person commencing work in the building, and be repeated every two years.

First Response Fire Training Online is a system that assists employers to meet their obligations by providing a comprehensive fire training course plus a convenient administration dashboard that enables the employer to access and print training records at any time.

The First Response Fire Training Online course covers:

  • the fire tetrahedron
  • how a fire starts
  • how a fire spreads
  • the dangers of fire
  • what to do if there’s a fire
  • classes of fire
  • how to use a fire extinguisher and fire blanket

The course is presented in 3 modules, and you should allow 45-60 minutes to complete the course.

Note: We are not an RTO. Training is not nationally accredited but complies with the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 requirements.

To comply with legislation you must also advise your personnel of the following:

  • the location of the building’s escape routes (fire exits and pathways to an exit)
  • a procedure for conducting members of the public to an exit and then to the designated assembly area (safe place)
  • checking of all rooms (including toilets) for people (after assessing the risk from smoke or fire) the location of fire-fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels)
