Steve is the Director of Ace Safety Training Service and Fire 8 Queensland, which specialises in fire, first aid, rescue and safety consultancy, equipment supply, maintenance and training. Steve’s consultancy role as a Fire Safety Adviser includes conducting audits and advising clients of the procedures and tasks to ensure compliance. Steve is an experienced Occupational Health and Safety professional, having worked for over 30 years in the coal mining industry where he held senior health and safety positions in charge of mine emergency response capabilities including fire protection systems. Steve is passionate about the emergency response capabilities. He was a member of the Queensland Open Cut Mines Rescue Technical Committee for 24 years and past chairman for 10 years. Steve has captained, managed and trained mine fire/ rescue teams to successes in state, interstate and world competitions.
