Occupiers of all buildings in Queensland must comply with the Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008. This course content has been designed to give employees the knowledge to be safe and to respond appropriately in the first critical minutes of a fire emergency. It covers how to be prepared for a fire, what steps to take on discovering a fire and firefighting techniques including use of a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. The training has been developed specifically for people in the workplace, but also includes helpful information to ensure safety in the home.
Being prepared
This module covers Fire safety awareness, the fire tetrahedron, how a fire can start and spread, and the obvious and hidden dangers of fire.

Firefighting and using extinguishers
This module covers the different types of fire, the selection of the correct extinguisher, and how to extinguish a fire.

Fire evacuation
This module covers what you need to know to be prepared for a fire in your workplace, and four letters that could save your life: R.A.C.E.
20 minutes
On completion of the course (3 modules) users will be issued with a Certificate from FRFTO. As per legislation, refresher training needs to be completed every two years.
